New Mexico Hunting

A session of New Mexico hunting should be enough to satisfy anyone's hunting appetite.

Well, think about it this way a quarter of New Mexico is filled with woods and God knows New Mexico is huge.

Some activists might try to convince that hunting is wrong. The way I see it is nothing more than a sustainable activity as it allows for extra funding for the national parks through the sales of permits while at the same time having a really minor effect on the entire ecosystem. Further still by the regulating effect created by precisely allowing the hunting of only few species and only during certain periods, the authorities can control effectively the animal populations such as to avoid major disturbances in the local wildlife.

Given these facts New Mexico hunting stops being a barbaric activity as some animal right activists try to put it and it becomes visible of what it really is. A challenge to the man's wits and accuracy versus the speed and the camouflage of the wildlife. The regulations further still enhance this challenge as they only allow hunting when the animals themselves are at the peak of their condition.

Still doubt that hunting in New Mexico is an interesting passtime? Then think of those hours, silently waiting, being careful not to make the slightest sound and to stay out of the wind's way so you don't make the animals alert. Hunting is as serious as you take it. Some may like to just walk hoping that some dumb luck will put some game in front of them, while others literally become stealth predators, waiting with deadly patience and shooting with expert accuracy.

If you plan a hunting expedition in New Mexico please make sure you get all the right permits and you know exactly which species you are allowed to hunt. This can save some serious trouble later. Also make sure that you bring the proper equipment with you. The woods can prove quite rough so also have a first aid kit with you and some serious amounts of water. If you plan for longer expeditions also bring along some sunscreen as the sun can get quite unforgiving.

With these issues in mind I hope that your New Mexico hunting experience will be a pleasurable one. Always take caution and keep a steady finger on the trigger. And never forget that people safety is more important than anything else.
